Maximilian Büsser is the founder and creative director of MB&F, the haut horlogerie Swiss brand making some of the craziest watches. He loves to remind us that “a creative adult is a child who survived” and indeed his creations are incredibly creative.

When we first showed Maximilian prototypes of our light-shaping technology in Geneva, he was blown away – how could such a simple polished surface make a detailed image appear? He immediately called the whole team in the office and made them the demo himself. We all started brainstorming in the different ways to integrate this technique in one of their watch.

In November 2020, the MB&F HM3 Frog X was revealed, the first watch to integrate the Rayform light-shaping technology. When light reflects on the polished crown, it projects the MB&F battle-axe symbol on a nearby surface.

Among the global Tribe of MB&F, certain elements constitute an insiders’ understanding of a shared passion, the battle-axe insignia being the first and foremost identifier of this exclusive community. With the secret message hidden via Rayform technology in the crown of HM3 FrogX, the code goes further undercover... even in a creation that exposes its innermost workings to the world.
